Air pollution is bad for our health, and the environment. But we can all make a difference by becoming Air Aware and making changes to the way we travel and live. And it’s easier than you might think.
The Be Air Aware campaign aims to raise awareness of the issues surrounding air quality and informing people what they can do to make our air fresher. We will be engaging with the public to show easy ways of 'doing your bit' - but we are also working with local schools to fund and promote initiatives making sustainable travel more fun. Keep an eye out for us in your local news paper to find out what activities and projects we are endorsing in schools near you, and visit our on-line calendar to find out when we will attend an event in your area.
The three year campaign is funded by DEFRA, The Local Transport Plan and the five Tyne and Wear local authorities, and launched in April 2009.
